Book of Saints – Benedict – 11 March


BENEDICT (Saint) Bishop (March 11) (8th century) An Archbishop of Milan, of the family of the Crespi, famous all over Italy for his sanctity, pastoral zeal and charity. He delivered the funeral discourse of Ceadwalla of Wessex, the Anglo-Saxon king baptised in the year 687 by Pope Sergius in Rome. He died A.D. 725, in the forty-fourth year of his Episcopate.
