Book of Saints – Bassian


BASSIAN (Saint) Bishop (January 19) (5th century) A Sicilian by birth, Bishop of Lodi in Lombardy, and mentioned with high praise by his friend, Saint Ambrose of Milan, with whom he had attended the Council of Aquileia (A.D. 381). Saint Bassian died A.D. 413, and was buried in the Church which he had dedicated in honour of the holy Apostles at Lodi, of which city he is the Patron Saint.
