Book of Saints – Basileus


BASILEUS (Saint) Bishop, Martyr (April 26) (4th century) A Bishop of Amasea in Pontus (Asia Minor), cast into the sea by order of the Emperor Licinius (A.D. 319). One of his disciples, by name Elpidiphorus, instructed by an Angel, recovered his body and gave it Christian burial.
