Book of Saints – Barbatian


BARBATIAN (Saint) Confessor (December 31) (5th century) A priest of Antioch who came to Rome and there attracted the attention of Placidia Augusta, mother of the Emperor Valentinian III. She induced him to attend her to her residence at Ravenna, where she built him a church and monastery. By his wise and moderate counsels he rendered great services to the State. The precise year of his death is uncertain.
