Book of Saints – Avertinus


AVERTINUS (Saint) Confessor (May 5) (12th century) A Gilbertine Canon, the faithful friend of Saint Thomas of Canterbury, who followed the holy Martyr into exile, and after his death devoted himself in France to the service of the poor. He died about A.D. 1189. Some churches in France are dedicated in his honour.
