Book of Saints – Austreberta


AUSTREBERTA (Saint) Virgin. (February 10) (8th century) A Saint of the North of France who fled from her home to escape being forced into a marriage against her will. She received the veil from Saint Omer. She died Abbess of Pavilly A.D. 704. Some of her relics are said to have been brought to Canterbury by the Norman invaders (A.D. 1066).
