Book of Saints – Anastasius – 7 September


ANASTASIUS (Saint) Martyr (September 7) (4th century) A fuller of Aquileaia, not far from Venice, who crossed into Dalmatia during the persecution under Diocletian. Far from concealing his adherence to the proscribed Christian religion, he painted a conspicuous cross on his door at Salona. He was seized and drowned (A.D. 304). His body was recovered by some fishermen, and after the peace of the Church enshrined at Spalatro.
