Book of Saints – Amantius – 8 April

AMANTIUS (Saint) Bishop (April 8) (5th century) The successor of Saint Provinus in the See of Como. Saint Leo the Great presented him with precious relics of Saints Peter and Paul, to whom he dedicated his Cathedral at Como, wherein he himself was buried (A.D. 440). He is still held in great veneration by his flock, who, in the sixteenth century, enshrined his relics in a church dedicated in his honour.
