Book of Saints – Amantius – 26 September


AMANTIUS (Saint) Confessor (September 26) (6th century) A priest personally known to Saint Gregory the Great, who compared him to the Apostles in regard to his power of working miracles. The date of his death is unknown, but he seems to have been called to his reward about A.D. 600 at Tiphernum (Citta di Castello), near Perugia, where he is honoured as a Patron Saint.
