ALTHRYDA (ALFRIDA, ETHELDRYTHA) (Saint) Virgin (May 20) (9th century) A daughter of King Offa of Mercia and the betrothed wife of the Martyr-king, Saint AEthelbehrt, after whose death she retired to Croyland (A.D. 792) and thenceforth lived as a recluse. She passed away A.D. 834.
