Book of Saints – Aldericus


ALDERICUS (ALDRICUS, ELRIC) (Saint) Bishop (January 7) (9th century) Bishop of Le Mans in the West of France, a learned and most pious prelate, devoted to the poor and to the religious interests of his Diocese. He was also in high repute for ability in the management of affairs; and, by his holiness of life, impressed all at the Court of King Louis le Debonnaire. The works he wrote are unfortunately lost. He died A.D. 856.
