Book of Saints – Alban – 21 June


(Saint) Martyr (June 21) (4th century) A Greek priest of Naxos who, sent into exile by the Arians, preached the Gospel in parts of Germany about Mainz. Here he was again attacked by the Arians, and eventually put to death by them, towards A.D. 400. A celebrated Abbey at Mainz, dedicated in his honour, has preserved his memory.
