Book of Saints – Agnes of Poitiers


AGNES OF POITIERS (Saint) Virgin (May 13) (6th century) Chosen by Saint Radegund to be Abbess of the two hundred nuns of her monastery of Holy Cross at Poitiers, the two Saints journeyed together to Aries where from the hands of Saint Caesarius they received the Rule of their community. Saint Agnes died shortly after her holy mistress (a.d. 588).
