Book of Saints – Agabus

AGABUS (Saint) Confessor (February 13) (1st century) Said to have been one of the seventy-two disciples sent out to preach by Our Lord (Luke 10) and thus an eye-witness of His miracles. He is mentioned as a disciple and prophet in the Acts of the Apostles (11:28). The Greek Church commemorates the martyrdom of Saint Agabus at Antioch on March 8. From a tradition among the Carmelites, he is usually represented in art robed in the habit of that Order and holding the model of a church in his hand.
