Book of Saints – Adrian and Others


ADRIAN and OTHERS (SS.) MM. (March 4) (9th cent.) A band of Martyrs (some say many thousands in number) massacred by the Heathen Danes (a.d. 874) in the Isle of May (Firth of Forth). Saint Adrian, Bishop of Saint Andrews, was leader of this glorious array of Christian victims. Their burial-place was a noted pilgrimage in Catholic Scotland.
