Book of Saints – Abibo

ABIBO (ABIBAS) (Saint) Confessor (August 3) (1st century) The second son of Gamaliel (Acts 5:24; 22:3), at whose feet Saint Paul had sat. Following his father’s example, he embraced the Christian Faith and lived an unsullied life to his eightieth year. His body was buried near that of St. Stephen, the First Martyr, at Capergamela, a town distant about twenty miles from Jerusalem. The Church commemorates annually the anniversary (Aug. 3) of the Finding (A.D. 415) of the bodies of the four Saints, Stephen, Gamaliel, Nicodemus and Abibo, there interred.
