Manuel studied at the seminary in Zaragoza, Spain, and was ordained a priest on 1 June 1901. He joined the Hermandad de Sacerdotes Operarios Diocesanos (Diocesan Laborer Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) in August 1906. He served in the Spanish cities of Zaragoza, Tarragona, Badajoz, Ciudad Real, Valladolid and Beaza, in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and in Rome, Italy. On 20 July 1936 he was arrested by antiCatholic forces in the Spanish Civil War in Baeza, Spain. He was held for weeks, and finally murdered for being a priest. Martyr.
