The son of Simon Bourdon, a wheelwright, and Mary Louise Le Fou, he was baptized at the age of one day. Franciscan Capuchin, professed on 27 November 1768, taking the name Brother Protasio. Priest, ordained in 1775. Secretary of the Franciscan provincial of Normandy. Imprisoned on a ship in the harbor of Rochefort, France and left to die during the anti–Catholic persecutions of the French Revolution. He spent his time on board caring for other prisoners. One of the Martyrs of the Hulks of Rochefort.
