Blessed Henri-Hippolyte Ermès

Studied under the Sulpicians. Awarded a degree in literature in 1775. Ordained in the archdiocese of Paris, France in 1776. Taught philosophy for two years at the seminary of Saint Irenaeus in Lyons, France. Wrote several short works against priests taking the oath of allegience to the civil constitution of the French Revolution as it put them in schism with the Church; for this, he was imprisoned and executed. One of the Martyrs of September.
