Archdiocese of Kisumu, Kenya
Founded as the Prefecture Apostolic of Kavirondo, Kenya Colony, British East Africa on 15 July 1925 by Pope Pius XI; the work was entrusted to the Foreign Missionaries of Mill Hill. Elevated to the Vicariate Apostolic of Kisumu on 27 May 1932 by Pope Pius XI. Elevated to the diocese of Kisumu on 25 March 1953 by Pope Pius XII as a suffragan of Nairobi. Elevated to an archdiocese on 21 May 1990 by Pope John Paul II. Suffragen dioceses include
