Received a doctorate in civil law. Priest, ordained on 13 June 1829. Member of the Order of the Oblate Missionaries of Rho in Milan, Italy. Bishop of Pavia, Italy on 11 November 1849. Patriarch of Venice, Italy on 15 March 1858. Founded the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions. Elevated to cardinal on 27 September 1861 by Pope Pius IX; the pope was unaware that Ramazzotti had died three days earlier. His Cause for Canonization has opened.
