Born to the nobility, the daughter of Baron Charles de Trenquelléon; the baron fought on the side of King Louis XVI in the French Revolution, which led to exile for him and his family in England, then Spain, then Portugal, back to Spain, and finally a return to France in 1802. In her early teens Adele felt a call to religious life. She and some like-minded friends founded a Little Society, an informal group for spiritual study and support. Co-founder of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (Marianist Sisters). Nun.
