The Venerable Maria Juliana of the Blessed Sacrament, daughter of a distinguished physician, Fortunato Arenare, died at Naples on 25 October 1857, a victim of heroic charity. According to the acts of the process the young daughter of Marquis Vigo was dangerously ill, and Sister Juliana, who was attending her, offered her life to God for that of the girl. God accepted the sacrifice. The Sister was seized with the child’s illness and the latter was restored to health.
