The Holiness of the Church in the Nineteenth Century – Venerable Maria Crucifixa of the Five Wounds

Venerable Maria Giuseppa d'AmbrosioArticle

The Venerable Maria Crucifixa of the Five Wounds, a member of the Third Order of Saint Peter of Alcantara, died also at Naples on 16 December 1826. Many persons of high position, both secular and ecclesiastical, sought counsel of the modest Religious. During the days of affliction which the Church suffered from the French Emperor, she prayed unceasingly for the triumph of Pius VII. Interior imitation of her Crucified Master was her greatest joy in this life.
