The Holiness of the Church in the Nineteenth Century – Venerable Cajetan Errico, Venerable Michael Garricoits, Father Fortunatus Redolfi

The Venerable Cajetan Errico died on 26 October 1860, at Naples. The process of his beatification is far advanced. He was the founder of the Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart.

The founder of a similar Congregation in France, the Priest Helpers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was the Venerable Michael Garricoits of Gascony. He died of apoplexy on the Feast of the Assumption, 1863 at Betharram, near Bayonne. His Congregation, which follows the rule of Saint Augustine, spread not only at home but also in South America.

The servant of God, Father Fortunatus Redolfi – died in 1850 – belonged to the Congregation of the Barnabites.
