Virgin, martyr (Rome, 305). According to the acts of Saint Agnes she was a foster-sister to that saint; while praying at Saint Agnes’s grave she was stoned to death by the pagan mob, thus receiving the baptism of blood. Relics in Church of Saint Agnes, Rome. Feast, Roman Calendar, 22 January.
