New Catholic Dictionary – Saint Cronan Mochua


Confessor, died 637, founder of the See of Balla, Ireland. His acts are mostly legendary. He was educated at Bangor under Saint Comgall. In 616 he founded the Church and Abbey of Balla of which he became the first abbotbishop. Numerous miracles are attributed to him. Feast, 30 March.
