(c.660742) Confessor. Bishop of Hexham, England. Bede dedicated several works to him. Driven from his diocese, 732, he took refuge in Galloway, but returned in 742. The Celtic cross at his grave in Hexham has been restored. Patron of learning. Feast, 20 October.
