Martyr, born Sainte-Catherine-sur-Riviere, France, 1832; died Kai-chou, China, 1862. He joined the Society of Jesus, was sent to China, 1858, and was beheaded while laboring for the propagation of the faith. Beatified, 1909. Feast, 18 February.
