New Catholic Dictionary – Blessed John Davy


Martyr, died Newgate prison, England, 1537. He was a deacon in the London Charterhouse. Refusing to take the oath of supremacy, he was imprisoned at Newgate, where he starved to death. Beatified, 1886.
