Located in Gorze, France. Housed the relics of Saint Gorgonius. Restored and reformed in the early 10th century on the Cluniac model. Home of the “chant messin”, an early form of Gregorian chant. Dissolved in 1572 in the turmoil of the Reformation. Most of the buildings were demolished in the late 16th century; the remaining stuctures have been re-built and restored, and some are open for public use.
