Entered the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME) in September 1957, and received his clerical habit on 1 May 1961. Ordained on 29 June 1969. Worked at the PIME minor seminary in Sotto Il Monte, Italy where he was noted for his ascetical life style, his prayer life, and for mentoring confused seminarians. Missionary to Guinea-Bissau in 1972, working with the sick and poor, studying and spending his free time in Eucharistic adoration. Having contracted hepatitis, he returned to Italy in March 1978 and served 12 years as rector of the seminary in Sotto Il Monte. He returned to missionary work in Guinea on 16 December 1990. He died during a pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal. His Cause for Canonization has opened.
