Eucharistic accidents


The appearances of bread and wine (quantity, shape, colour, smell, taste …) which remain after the Consecration, when the substance of the bread and the wine is changed into the substance of the Body and the Blood of Christ (transubstantiation); they are also known by the Latin term, species (appearances).
