Premonstratensian abbey in Melrose, Scotland. Burned by English troops under King Edward II in 1322. Re-built under King Robert the Bruce, it was burned again by troops under King Richard II in 1385. Destroyed again in 1544, it was dis-established during the Scottish Reformation. Sir Walter Scott and Field Marshall Douglas Haig are buried on its grounds.
