Dictionary of Saintly Women – Blessed Adela (1)


Blessed Adela (1) November 23, c.630 or 664. Of the blood of the dukes of Anstrasia. Mother of Saint Tron, or Trudo, or Truyen, priest. Buried on her own estate at Zeleem, near Dist, in Brabant. Some of Adela’s bones are preserved in the Benedictine monastery founded by her son, at the place since called Saint Trond. He died in 693.
