Calendar of Scottish Saints – Saint Gonval, King, A.D. 824


Some Scottish historians speak of this good king as an example of piety and respect for the Church and her ordinances. He is said to have received the commendation of Saint Columba. His name occurs in the ancient Litany known as that of Dunkeld, formerly in use among the Culdees.
