Butler’s Lives of the Saints – Saint Eugenius, Martyr

He was a disciple of Saint Dionysius, first bishop of Paris, and suffered martyrdom at Paris soon after him, according to the New Paris Breviary in 275. His relics were translated to Toledo, in Spain, in 1148, as is related by Mariana. It is by mistake that some have confounded this martyr with Eugenius, the pious and learned archbishop of Toledo.
