(Saint) (November 2) (13th century) A German youth of noble birth who, while unknown and unrecognised on a pilgrimage, fell sick and died unattended near a village in Bavaria (A.D. 1230). Miracles succeeding one another at his tomb led to the venerating of him as a Saint, and eventually his remains were enclosed in a costly shrine.
