(Saint) Abbot (August 3) (12th century) A Canon Regular of Nostel near Pontefract in Yorkshire, who passed to the Cistercian Order and became Abbot of Melrose. He was remarkable for his gift of high prayer and for the miracles he wrought. He died A.D. 1160, and fifty years afterwards his body was found to be still incorrupt.
