(Ulmar, Wulmar) (Saint) (July 20) Abbot (8th century) A nobleman of Picardy in France who founded a monastery at a place near Boulogne, called after him Saint Ulmar (Samer). He was helped in his work by King Cadwalla of Wessex when that monarch was on his pilgrimage to Rome. Saint Ulmar died in high fame of sanctity, July 20, A.D. 710.
