(Saint) Virgin (February 1) (13th century) A pious maiden of Castel Fiorentino, near Florence, who, after a life of good works and after having made pilgrimages both to Rome and to Compostella, chose to end her days as an Anchoress in the strict enclosure of a solitary cell. She passed from this world A.D. 1245. Pope Clement VIII decreed that she be honoured as a Saint.
