(Ulric, Udalricus) (Saint) Bishop (July 4) (10th century) A German, educated in the monastery of Saint Gall in Switzerland, and made Bishop of Augsburg (A.D. 924) at a time when inroads of Barbarians were laying the country desolate. Having laboured energetically and successfully for the good of his people, he died at the age of eighty (A.D. 973). He was canonised twenty years later.
