Book of Saints – Timon

(Saint) Martyr (April 19) (1st century) One of the First Seven Deacons, chosen by the Apostles (Acts 6:5). One tradition makes Saint Timon to have been one of the seventy-two disciples sent before Him by Christ Himself (Luke 10); another adds that he afterwards became Bishop of Bostra. The Roman Martyrology describes Saint Timon as having first preached at Bercea, then to have been made Bishop of Corinth, and finally to have been crucified by the Jews and Pagans of that city.
