(Blessed) Martyr (July 30) (16th century) A Doctor of the University of Oxford, a priest and an accomplished Scholar. He was hanged at Smithfleld (A.D. 1540) for rejecting the pretended Royal Supremacy in matters of religion, and for opposing the Divorce of Queen Catharine.
