(Blessed) (July 8) (13th century) A French noble of the Montmorency family who, renouncing his worldly prospects, became a Cistercian monk. “He lived (says Butler) in the midst of his brethren as the servant of every one, and surpassed all others in his love of poverty, silence and holy prayer.” He died A.D. 1247.
