Book of Saints – Symphorianus

Saint Symphorian, MartyrArticle

(Saint) Martyr (August 22) (3rd century) A Christian of Autun (France), put to death about A.D. 178 for refusing to worship an idol. A succession of miracles worked at his tomb quickly made him famous. A confusion between the names of the Emperors Marcus Aurelius and Aurelian has led not a few writers to postdate Saint Symphorian by an entire century.
