(Saint) Martyr (September 9) (Date unknown) We have nothing of him but the mere name, without mention even of place. There is, however, a tradition that he was a Christian put to death by being fastened to two trees, bent towards each other, so that on their recoil he was torn asunder. This mode of execution points to the beginning of the fourth century.
