(Saint) (September 3) (6th century) A Syrian monk who, about one hundred years after the great Pillar Saint, Saint Simeon, and in the same neighbourhood, did penance for sixty years on a similar pillar, and became almost equally famous. The Emperor Maurice of Constantinople held him in great veneration.
