(Saint) Martyr (July 13) (3rd century) An Oriental Martyr, celebrated among the Greeks. He converted many Pagans and in the end was arrested and died at the stake. The locality (probably in Macedonia) is now unknown, but Saint Serapion’s martyrdom took place in the reign of the Emperor Septimius Severus (A.D. 193–211).
