(Saint) Martyr (June 25) (6th century) A Prince or Duke in Cornwall who married Saint Gwen and was father of Saint Cybi. He passed over into Brittany, over which he ruled until assailed by the heathen malcontents among his subjects. They murdered him about A.D. 550. This Saint Salomon is sometimes confused with Salomon III, also a Duke of Brittany, who flourished in the ninth century, and was likewise a Saint honoured as a Martyr.
